Coach Chris Baucia

Since 1992, Coach Chris Baucia has been training Quarterbacks from the Mid-Atlantic region. In 1999, Coach Baucia founded the Quarterback Factory for the development of Quarterbacks and Receivers. Over the last 25 years of training QBs and WRs, he has worked with outstanding families and their players, such as 2022 Heisman winner and NFL #1 draft pick, Caleb Williams of USC/Chicago Bears, Reese Poffenbarger of University of Miami, Collin Schlee of UCLA, Ryan O’Connor of University of Delaware, Mike Van Buren of Mississippi State, Brysen Coleman of Vanderbilt University, Austin Troyer of Delaware, Frankie Weaver of Monmouth University and the 2022 Rhodes Trophy winner Malik Washington of Archbishop Spalding HS/University of Maryland.

Other top graduates of Quarterback Factory include, Kevin Hogan – Gonzaga / Stanford University/NFL, Kurt Rawlings – John Carroll /Yale , Under Armour All American and Gatorade Player of the Year Kasim Hill – St. Johns College HS/ University of Tennessee, Under Armour All American Kai Locksley – University of Texas/UTEP, William Crest – West Virginia University, Ryan Burns – Stanford University, Caleb Henderson – University of North Carolina, Colar Kuhns – Michigan State, Scott McBrien University of Maryland and many others.

Coach Baucia has devoted his life to helping players learn HOW TO USE FOOTBALL and not LET FOOTBALL USE THEM. This is a phrase to express how a player can use the sport he loves to gain an education and move forward in life.

Currently, Coach Baucia is the offensive coordinator and QB Coach at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, MD. In his very first year, Coach Baucia helped the SFA squad capture the MIAA “A” Conference Title, with a signature win over South Pointe SC, snapping a 48-game South Pointe SC win streak. In 2017, St. Frances finished MIAA ‘A” Conference Champions once again and gained National recognition when the team finished 13-0, #1 in State of Maryland and #3 in the USA Today National Poll. This is the highest national ranking of a Maryland school in the history of the poll. In 2018, St. Frances won the MIAA “A” Conference title again and finished the season 10-0, #1 in the State of Maryland and #4 in the USA Today National poll. In 2019 the Panthers once again finished at the top of the national polls, with signature wins over IMG, St Joseph Montvale, NJ, and Miami Central. After a 2020 Covid Impacted Season, the 2021 Panthers once again finished in the top 5 in the USA national rankings with signature wins over Concord De La Salle and IMG.

Before coaching at St. Frances, Coach Baucia was the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterback Coach at The Gilman School located in Baltimore, MD. In his very first year, Coach Baucia helped the Gilman Football program win the MIAA “A” Championship. As the OC at Gilman the offense averaged 40 points per game and his QBs accounted for over 2,000 yards of offense. After the 2011 season, Coach Baucia was the first Coordinator to ever win a Conference title in both prominent Private school conferences in the state of Maryland (The MIAA ‘A’ and the WCAC). In 2011, Coach Baucia was also named the OC in the Marine High School All American game in Arizona. This game featured the nation’s best players and was televised on CBS. In 2012 and 2014, and 2015, The Gilman School once again won the MIAA “A” Championship highlighted by signature wins over National Powers Oscar Smith, VA, Don Bosco Prep, NJ. The Don Bosco win snapped a 4-year 48-game Don Bosco winning streak. Gilman is one of only a few programs nationally that has produced consecutive D1 Quarterbacks which include Elite 11 winner and University of Maryland QB Shane Cockerille and Under Armour All American and University of Texas QB Kai Locksley and Under Armour All American and Gatorade Player of the Year Kasim Hill – University of Maryland.

Before accepting the position at Gilman, Coach Baucia served as the OC and QB Coach at DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, MD. Every Quarterback that he has coached at DeMatha has gone on to college on either a full D1 scholarship or substantial grant and financial aid. Coach Baucia has also assisted over 195 student athletes in receiving full Division 1 scholarships. During that time, the DeMatha Stags won 14 WCAC championships, including #1 rankings in the Washington Post in 2000, 2001, and 2004, and USA Today rankings #15 2003, #20 2004, #14 2005, and #16 2006. In 1997 legendary high school and NFL Coach of the year, Bill McGregor promoted Coach Baucia to Offensive Coordinator. Coach Baucia took over the play calling duties until 2010.

Over his successful career, Coach Baucia has worked with student-athletes who went on to play at a wide variety of Colleges and Universities throughout the country, including those in the ACC, Big East, Big 10, Big 12, Pac 12, and Atlantic 10 conferences. Overall, Coach Baucia has coached or assisted more than 320 players who have received NCAA Division 1 or 1 AA scholarships.
