Coach Sam Williams
Lead QB Instructor (QB Factory North)

Coach Sam Williams is an experienced football coach with a demonstrated history of teaching and motivating college football players over the past 13 seasons. He is also versed in scouting, recruiting, football analytics, and player development.

Sam began his college coaching career at Shepherd University in 2007. In 2008 assumed the role of QB Coach at Shepherd and also began coaching with Chris Baucia at the QB Factory; helping to train and develop top high school quarterbacks in the D/M/V region.

In 2010 Shepherd set numerous season offensive marks; most wins in a season (12), most points (549), most total offense plays (964), and most total offense yards (5,960). Shepherd finished that season as 2010 WVIAC Conference Champions with a Final Four appearance.

In 2011 Sam joined the football staff at Vanderbilt University, assisting with the Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers. In 2012 Vandy finished the season with a 9-4 record (Top 25) and a Music City Bowl win over NC State. The offense finished teh 2012 season by setting a school offensive record of 4,936 yards. The Commodores averaged 30.1 points, the first team in program history to top 30 points per game.

From 2013 through the 2014 season, Sam coached at Rutgers University. During his tenure he helped the special teams unit finish 1st in the AAC in kickoff return defense, blocked kicks, and blocked punts. As an offensive assistant coach, he saw Rutgers finish the 2014 season with 2,114 yards rushing, 7th in the Big Ten and a win over North Carolina in the Quick Lane Bowl.

In 2015 Sam arrived at Penn State. Penn State played in a bowl game each of the 5 seasons he was there, including a 2016 Big10 Championship win over Wisconsin, 2017 PlayStation Fiesta Bowl win over Washington and the 2019 Cotton Bowl win over Memphis. In that time, Penn State has had four-straight seasons of at least nine wins, and the Nittany Lions were one of only five teams to rank in the Top 15 of the College Football Playoff final rankings in each of the last four years. After the 2019 season Sam stepped away from coaching football to pursue a management position in telecommunications. Sam now invests his spare time and intensity to teach, train and inspire young athletes to be the best version of themselves, while being Lead Instructor for QB Factory North.
